NACOGDOCHES - Former SFA kinesiology faculty, Dr. Dorothy Allen and Dr. Jane Robertson, were recognized Saturday, Sept. 16 by the athletics department for their longtime support of the program. SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill presented the two with the Director of Athletics Award of Distinction during the Lumberjacks home opener against Delta State.

Both have been instrumental in spearheading the Ladyjack Academic Shootout, which has raised more that $50,000 since 2001. The funds from the academic shootout assist Ladyjack basketball players with summer school expenses.

Dr. Allen and Dr. Robertson have also assisted the athletics department in raising an additional $45,000 for summer school funding. Altogether, SFA has raised almost $100,000 due to their efforts.

"No one has been more involved in raising money for the athletics department than Dr. Allen and Dr. Robertson," said Hill. "They have been instrumental in the education of many student-athletes and remain totally committed in their support of our program."
