Laceé Carmon joined the SFA coaching staff in September 2009. She was brought into work with SFA horizontal jumps, and also assists with the Lumberjack and Ladyjack hurdlers.

In her first season Carmon's athlete's recorded five All-SLC honors, two individual titles, one school record and a confernece athlete of the year. Junior Camelia Sams prospered under Carmon's coaching earning three All-SLC honors, winning the 2010 SLC indoor long jump and triple jump title and being named SLC Indoor Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year, marking the third consecutive season a Ladyjack has won the award. Along with the titles, Sams also set a new school record in the long jump with a mark of 19-11.50 during the indoor season.

Carmon came to SFA from Smith College in Northhampton, Mass., where she worked as an assistant coach. During her time at Smith College, Carmon worked with the sprinters, hurdlers and horizontal jumps squad developing training plans for certain events. Several of her athletes earned New England Division III and ECAC championship qualifying marks under Carmon's guidance.

A USATF level one coach, Carmon also served as a co-lecturer of applied exercise science.

A four-year letterwinner in track and field at Rice, Carmon was the true definition of a student-athlete. During her collegiate career, she earned Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll honors, was named a Western Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete and was awarded the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award. Carmon graduated from Rice in May 2008 with her bachelor of arts in kinesiology and psychology, and is currently working on her master's degree in kinesiology.
