Three student-athletes had provisional qualifications for the NCAA championship. These athletes included sophomore Paul Todd of Marshall, junior Adam Keul of Tyler, and junior Misty Ballard of Carlsbad, New Mexico. Todd won the high jump with 2.16M (7-01.00). She broke the LSU Purple Tiger Invitational meet record with this vault. This was a repeat performance for Ballard as she had a vault of 3.93M (12-10.75) last week at the Oklahoma Track Classic in Norman, Oklahoma (1/20/01). This was also a new meet record. The women's 4x400 relay team also had a winning performance as they finished the relay with a time of 3:56.88. The SFA indoor track and field team will be back in action Saturday, February 3, at the Houston Indoor Invitational.
