Marshall Earns All-America Honors

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Junior thrower Frednisha Marshall recorded a third-place finish in the women's weight throw Friday afternoon at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships to earn All-America honors. Marshall recorded a throw of 69-4.25 to set a new school record in the event.
Marshall advanced to the finals by finishing second in her flight. Louisville's Dana McCarty won the individual title beating out Marshall by only 3-1.50.
The two-time SLC Indoor Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year has set the school record numerous times during her career, and is currently the school record holder. The All-America honor only adds to her already numerous list of accomplishments that includes school and conference records, conference athlete of the week recognition, All-SLC honors, league individual titles, and conference MVP awards.
Marshall's throw scored six points in the team standings. The Ladyjacks are currently tied for 15th in the nation, heading into the second and final day of the championship meet.
