Track and Field Record More Top-10 Performances at Texas

AUSTIN, Texas - The Lumberjacks 1,600-meter relay team ran the third fastest time in the preliminary rounds. The team of freshman Jontel Goff, sophomore Torin Crowder, freshman Glenn McQuinney and sophomore Cass Brown recorded a time of 3:09.53 to advance.
The team of sophomore Paige McCutcheon, freshmen Cierra Jefferson and Brarsheyia Simpson and senior Mary Dickerson clocked a time of 3:40.02 to finish 14th overall, just missing qualification for the finals. The time was less than half a second off the school-record pace.
Sophomore Jamal Peden battled back from a tough outing in the long jump, to record a strong mark in the triple jump. Peden posted a jump of 48-11.50 to finish ninth overall. Freshman Madison Johnston recorded a top-10 finish in the javelin throw. Johnston recorded a mark of 136-6 to finish 10th in the event. Junior Kelli Hermes added a 10th-place finish in the triple jump (38-6.25). Junior Carrie Hahn just missed a top-10 finish in the high jump. Hahn cleared a height of 5-5.00 to finish in a three-way tie for 13th overall.
SFA will close out competition at the Texas Releys Saturday evening in Austin.
