COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University track and field team competed in the 2001 Texas A&M Invitational. There were many stunning performances by the Ladyjacks and Lumberjacks including several first place finishes.

Juniors Misty Ballard (Carlsbad, NM.) and Adam Keul (Tyler, Tex.) clinched first place in the men's and women's pole vault. Ballard has already provisionally qualified, but clinched first place at the A&M meet with a vault of 3.85M (12-07.50). Keul clinched the men's title with a vault of 5.56M (18-02.75). Both vaulters have placed in the top three in four of their five meets this season.

Freshman distance runner Justin Meier (Lorena, Tex.) also clinched a first place finish as he ran 4:01.81 in the 1500M run. This was Meier's second best time of the season in the 1500M run and first, first place finish.

Sophomore Paul Todd (Marshall, Tex.) high jumped 2.08M (6-09.75). This gave Todd a first place finish. This was a season best for the former Southland Conference high jump champion.

The SFA track and field team will be back in action Saturday, April 21, at the Texas Christian University Classic in Fort Worth, Texas.
