    Blake Gordon Earns All-SLC Honor

    SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team opened up the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships in San Marcos, Texas. Senior Blake Gordon got the Ladyjacks out to a fast start earning All-Southland Conference honors in the shot put. Gordon finished second overall with her NCAA Regional qualifying toss of 49-11.00.

    Freshman Markeisha Edwards scored four points for SFA, recording a fifth-place finish in the shot put with her throw of 46-2.00. Sophomore Kenneth McKinley also scored four points with his fifth-place finish in the shot put, recording a mark of 52-10.25.

    The men and women's 10,000-meter runs will take place later tonight. SFA will return to action Sunday with the final day of action in the multi events. The track preliminaries will get under way at 6 p.m.
