Marshall, Ownbey Named Track & Field MVPs

Junior thrower Frednisha Marshall and freshman distance runner Mitch Ownbey have been named 2009 SFA Track and Field team MVPs head coach Phil Olson announced Friday morning. The duo combined to record seven All-Southland Conference finishes, four SLC individual titles and an indoor All-America honor. SFA Lands 80 Selections To Commissioner's Honor Roll

Stephen F. Austin is among the top five schools in the Southland Conference on the Spring 2009 SLC Commissioner's Honor Roll, announced earlier this week by league officials. Led by 28 honorees from the women's track and field team, including 2009 SLC Student-Athlete of the Year Amy Shackelford, SFA landed 80 selections in all.MORE[+]

Shackelford Named SLC Student-Athlete of the Year

Four Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field/cross country athletes have been named to the Academic All-Southland Conference teams announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. SFA Closes Out NCAA Midwest Regional Championships

The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team closed out the 2009 NCAA Midwest Regional Championships Saturday in Norman, Okla. Junior thrower Matt Langdon recorded SFA's third top-10 finish of the meet when he recorded a school-record toss of 189-9 to finish 10th in the men's hammer.MORE[+]
