    Connell Establishes School Record in Heptathlon

    MANHATTAN, Kansas - Stephen F. Austin senior Justin Connell opened the 2004 indoor track and field season the week prior to the rest of his team at the Kansas State meet. Connell competed in the heptathlon, an event making its indoor debut this season.

    Connell was the top collegiate finisher in the event establishing the school record with his 4,749-point performance. Connell's performance was highlighted by the pole vault, where he cleared a height of 15-3.

    The SFA track and field team returns to action Friday at the Bayou Bengal Invitational in Baton Rouge, La.
