Junior Jessica Claiborne (Spring, Texas) was named Southland Conference Women's Athlete of the Week announced the league office Wednesday afternoon.

Claiborne set two personal and school records at the Houston All-Comers meet. Her mark of 19 feet, 1.50 inches in the long jump was good enough for a first-place finish. She finished second in the triple jump with her mark of 39-8.75. Claiborne is the first Ladyjack this season to receive the honor.

SFA continues the 2002 indoor season Saturday in Houston, Texas. Both the men and women's teams will be competing in the Houston Indoor Invitational.
