HOUSTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Southwest Classic in Houston, Texas Saturday. The Ladyjacks tallied 44 points to finish fourth, while the Lumberjacks scored 26 points for an eighth-place finish.

Senior Destine Rawls (Houston, Texas) led the way for the Ladyjacks with her throw of 50 feet, 9.25 inches in the shot put to take the Southwest Classic individual title. That mark improves upon her school-record toss of 50-5.50 that she set at the LSU Purple Tiger meet. Senior pole vaulter Misty Ballard-Swan (Carlsbad, N.M.) finished second in the pole vault, and equaled her best vault of the season, with her mark of 12-7.50.

Senior pole vaulter Adam Keul (Tyler, Texas) led the way for the SFA men's team. Keul won the pole vault individual title with his jump of 17-2.75.

The SFA track and field teams return to action Friday at the Southland Conference Championships. The SLC Championships is a two-day meet that will run through Saturday.
