    PLANO, Texas - Sophomore Ana Rodriguez (Dallas, Texas) was named Southland Conference Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Texas A&M Multis/Relays meet announced league officials Wednesday.

    Rodriguez led the charge in the 5,000-meter run with her time of 17:14.67. Rodriguez set a new school record, breaking the old mark by more than 21 seconds. She was one of five individual champions for SFA over the weekend. It is the first athlete of the week honor for a Ladyjack this season.

    The SFA track and field team returns to action Friday when it travels to Houston, Texas for the Rice Invitational.
