AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore Jonathan Roberson (Mart, Texas) closed out the second and final day of the decathlon by setting four personal records, finishing sixth with 6,726 points which was also a personal best. Roberson recorded a personal best in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.60 seconds. He also set a personal record in the javelin with his fifth-place throw of 163-9.00. He finished eighth in the pole vault with his mark of 13-9.25, which was also a personal best. But Roberson saved the best for last, winning the 1,500-meter run with his personal-record time of 4:35.45.

Classmate Justin Connell (Troup, Texas) also had a strong second day in the decathlon as he finished with a personal best 6,440 points for 10th place. Connell recorded a personal record of 50.97 seconds in the 400 meters. He closed out the decathlon with a personal record-time of 5:05.03 in the 1,500-meter run.

Sophomore Nathan Flores (Kingwood, Texas) set a school record for the second consecutive week, but this week in the 5,000 meters. Flores crossed the finish line fifth with a time of 14:33.39 to shatter an SFA record that had stood since the 1984 season.

Freshman Jocelyn Stevens (Schertz, Texas) finished second in her heat of the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.00 but did not qualify for the finals.

SFA returns to action Friday in Austin, with the third day of competition at the Texas Relays. The track events will get started at 9:30 a.m., with the women's 4X100-meter relay. The field events will get underway at 10 a.m., with the women's javelin.
