    Lazenby Named Athlete of the Week

    PLANO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Reggie Lazenby has been named Southland Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. Lazenby won first place in the long jump at Saturday's Houston Invitational to earn the honor, his first of the year.

    Lazenby recorded a season-best mark of 25-04.50, his fifth consecutive NCAA regional qualifying performance of the season. His jump ranks in the Top 10 nationally and in the Top 5 regionally. He leads all other Southland Conference long jumpers by eight inches.

    Lazenby and the rest of the SFA track and field teams will be in action this weekend at the SLC Championships. The meet, hosted by Texas-Arlington, is set to start Saturday and conclude on Monday.
