NACOGDOCHES - Sophomore Nathan Flores (Kingwood, Texas) was named Southland Conference Outdoor Track Male Athlete of the Year Friday announced the league office.

Flores had a dominating performance at the SLC Outdoor Championships winning three individual titles. Flores competed in the 10,000 meters on the first day of the meet and posted a 31:29.54 to earn his first SLC individual title. He came right back the next day to win the 3,000m steeplechase (9:07.23). He finished off the hat trick with his 14:44.93 in the 5,000m. His 30-point performance at the SLC Outdoor Championships earned him high-point athlete honors.

Flores concludes a sophomore season that saw him earn three SLC athlete of the week honors, led the cross country team to its first team title behind his runner-up finish and five All-SLC honors.
