Harlan Prepares for NCAA Championships

June 5, 2008

DES MOINES, Iowa - Sophomore decathlete Aaron Harlan will be representing the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships which begin Wednesday, June 11, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

"I'm excited about his success," said SFA multis coach Ron McCown. "We realized that a shot at the NCAA Championships was a very real possibility after he recorded a provisional mark in the first meet of the season. He only continued to get stronger from that point. I'm very excited about Aaron's future at SFA."

A McGregor, Texas, native, Harlan qualified for the NCAA Championships with his score of 7,141 points at the NSU in the opening meet of the season. He improved upon his score with a 7,319 to earn All-Southland Conference honors at the SLC Outdoor Championships.
