    Two Ladyjacks Named Academic All-SLC

    PLANO, Texas - Senior thrower Blake Gordon and sophomore heptathlete Crystal Chang were named to the 2004 Academic All-Southland Conference team announced conference officials Wednesday afternoon. Gordon is also a 2004 third-team Academic All-America selection.

    Gordon wrapped up her senior season by guiding the Ladyjacks to a runner-up finish at the SLC Outdoor Championships in May. She is an eight-time All-Southland Conference athlete and three-time SLC individual champion. She guided SFA to its first-ever conference outdoor track and field title in 2003, earning SLC Female Student-Athlete of the Year honors. She was also named to the 2003 USTCA All-Academic team.

    Chang really came on in her sophomore year as one of the league's top heptathletes earning All-Southland Conference honors and finishing second in the heptathlon during the outdoor season and second in the pentathlon during the indoor season.
