INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Former Ladyjack All-American Misty Ballard-Swan (Carlsbad, N.M.) was named as a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship announced the NCAA Monday.

Ballard-Swan was one of 29 female athletes to receive the honor. She is the first Ladyjack athlete to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship and plans on enrolling in fall classes at Rice.

Ballard Swan finished out her senior season at SFA ranked 14th in the nation in the pole vault and earned Academic All-Southland Conference and first-team Verizon Academic All-America honors.
