Andrews Wins Canadian Junior National Title

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Stephen F. Austin rising sophomore Kaitlyn Andrews defended her shot put title at the Canadian Junior National Championships last week. A Georgetown, Ontario native, Andrews recorded a throw of 13.73 meters to take homer her second consecutive title.

Andrews also competed in the discus where she also placed among the field's top five. Her mark of 41.17 meters in the event was good enough to place fourth overall.

Andrews had a stellar rookie season for the Ladyjacks earning all-conference honors during the 2007 indoor season. She came right back during the outdoor season and recorded a top-five finish in the shot put.
