    Smith Takes Southland Crown

    Junior claimed SFA's sixth all-time SLC individual title in record fashion on Monday at Piney Woods CC.

    2011: - Finished 65th overall at the NCAA South Central Regional meet at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club in Waco (33:08.6) ... finished 20th at the Southland Conference championships (26:12.4) ... came in 22nd at the Alabama Crimson Classic (25:45.82) ... crossed in 26:59.67 to finish 14th at the SLC Pre-conference meet ... finished 31st at the Rice Invitational (17:53).

    2010: Finished 76th (32:44) overall on the 10,000-meter course as a true freshman at the NCAA South Central Regional Cross Country meet ... turned in time of 26:40 on 8,000-meter course at Southland Conference Cross Country Championships for a 31st-place finish.

    High School: Helped lead Champion to the Class 4A state championship in cross country and a Nike Team National Championship ... finished among top five at both meets.
