    Smith, Rodriguez Lead SFA At Chile Pepper Festival

    SFA will next travel to Beaumont for the SLC Cross Country Championships on Oct. 26.

    2011: Was SFA's top finisher in all but one race in 2011 ... finished sixth overall at the SLC Pre-Conference meet at Piney Woods Country Club (26:18.32) ... crossed line in 17th place at SLC Championships (25:50.3) ... was top SFA finisher, coming in 33rd at the NCAA South Central Regional meet (32:00.6) ... finished eighth at Alabama Crimson Classic (17:27.11) finished 10th overall at the Rice Invitational (17:19).

    2010: Earned All-SLC honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by finishing third overall with a time of 9:12.92 ... Just missed all-conference honors with a fourth-place finish (8:31.56) at the indoor conference championships in the 3,000 meters ... Was eighth in the 5,000 meters (15:15.42) at the league indoor meet ... finished 30th (26:37) overall at Southland Conference Cross Country Championshipos ... was 53rd (31:52) overall at NCAA South Central Regional Championships on the 10,000-meter course.

    2009: Was 108th at the NCAA Regionals with a time of 35:16 ... Recorded a time of 27:00 to finish 53rd at the SLC Cross Country Championships ... redshirted the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons ... Won the steeplechase at the Rice Twilight meet with a time of 9:16.30 ... Took first in the steeple at the LSU Alumni Gold meet with a time of 9:23.23.
