    GALVESTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Athletics Department has received the bids to host the 2008 Southland Conference Cross Country and Volleyball Championships, as well as the 2009 SLC Track and Field Championships announced league officials Monday morning.

    "We are very excited to have the opportunity to host the SLC Championships for volleyball, cross country and track and field," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "Hosting the league championships will give us another opportunity to utilize our fine athletic facilities. It will also provide SFA another outlet to have our beautiful campus on display."

    The 2008 season will mark the first time SFA has hosted the SLC Volleyball Championships since 2002. SFA hosted both the league cross country and outdoor track and field championships this past year.
