What To Watch For vs Louisiana-Lafayette

- Ryan Priest will be making his first start since March 3 at then No. 4 Texas A&M. That day as a starter he allowed just two runs to the Aggies, throwing 6.2 innings that evening.

- The game starts the longest week of the season for the `Jacks, with six games in six days. After Tuesday's game in Lafayette, SFA plays a twinbill on Wednesday at home against UPTA followed by a three-game set in Lake Charles against McNeese State beginning Friday.

- SFA has not battled the Ragin' Cajuns since 1994, and in the three latest mettings dating back to 1993, have not scored more than a single run in a game. ULL has not visited Nacogdoches in recorded history, while the last Lumberjack win in the series was a 5-0 win in 1991.

- Sean Meyers continues to flirt with .400, using a 3-for-5 day on Saturday to push his average back to .402. If he can maintain his pace, he would set a new batting record at SFA. The last SLC player to hit .400 on a season was Eric Kanaby of Lamar, who his .406 in 2007.

What To Watch For vs UTPA

- SFA will start a pair of freshmen against the Broncs on Wednesday, with each getting his first start of his career. Zack Taylor is scheduled to get the ball in the first game, while Cory Ochs will start Game 2. Ochs is the only one of the two that has faced UTPA before, tossing a scoreless inning in Edinburg on March 1.

- The `Jacks have not won a game in a doubleheader this season, having gone 0-4 in two twinbills in 2009. SFA lost to ULM and Mississippi State at the season-opening Warhawk Classic, and fell twice to Northwestern State on March 15 in Natchitoches.

- With a pair of wins, SFA will have won 10 consecutive games over the Broncs. The last time UTPA beat SFA was on April 19, 2006 in Nacogdoches when UTPA pulled out an 8-7 win.

- Last year's series with UTPA was an exciting one, especially in the final games. The `Jacks led each of the two games in Nacogdoches, before giving it away late; however, late rallies from SFA propelled them in to the win column. Both games came via walkoff, the first when Matt Whatley homered in the bottom of the 11th and the second on a game-winning single from Jeff Brewer.
