Ulric Maligi is now in his third season at SFA.

Maligi is involved in all phases of the daily operation of the men's basketball office. He is responsible for on-the-floor coaching, recruiting, academic monitoring, and opponent scouting.

Prior to joining the SFA coaching staff, Maligi served one season as an assistant basketball coach at UT Arlington. While at UTA, he recruited Boston College transfer and 2008-09 Second-Team All-SLC selection, Marquez Haynes. In Arlington, Maligi also coached a pair of All-SLC performers. Jermaine Griffin was named to the 2007 SLC First Team and Roge'r Guignard was selected as the 2007 SLC Freshman of the Year.

Maligi spent three seasons (from 2002-05) as a student assistant/ video coordinator at Howard University.

He also served as head coach for the Dallas Mustangs AAU program from 2003-06. In his time with the Dallas Mustangs, the program had over 50 players sign Division I scholarships, including McDonald's All-American Byron Eaton (former Oklahoma State standout) and current Golden State Warrior Anthony Randolph (former LSU standout).

According to Clark Francis of HoopScoop, Maligi is currently ranked the 31st best Mid-to-Low Major Division I assistant coach in the country.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Maligi played high school basketball at Arlington Bowie. He graduated Cum Laude from Howard University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. He is currently engaged to Courtney K. Brown.
