The Stephen F. Austin dropped their exhibition opener 86-80 Tuesday night to Athletes First, in spite of shooting 55% from the field in the game.

Skip Jackson led all scorers in the game with 18 points, connecting on 7 of 13 shots fromn the field, including four of nine from beyond the three point stripe. Chad Wilkerson and Roland Miller led Athletes First with 14 points each.

Both teams shot well from the field, with the 'Jacks shooting 55% and Athletes First shooting an even 53% from the floor. SFA was 10 of 15 at the free throw line, while Athletes First connected on 5 of 8 free throws.

Ransom White, Ron Banks and Emanuel Jackson all scored 12 points each for SFA. Banks led SFA in rebounding with six. SFA won the battle on the boards 32-29.

SFA returns to action one week from Tuesday as they host Team Ezybonds at 7:00 p.m.
