Skip Jackson scored 23 points Saturday night as the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks moved to 2-1 on the season with a 74-66 win over Arkansas-Monticello in the Coliseum.

Jackson was 11 of 13 at the free throw line to lead all scorers in the game with the 23 points. Orlando Hampton added 23 for UAM as well.

SFA built as much as an 11-point lead severl times in the second half before Arkansas-Monticello narrowed the gap. The Boll Weevils then began fouling the 'Jacks in the final two minutes of play to put SFA on the foul line. The 'Jacks shot an even 70% at the line for the night, connecting on 21 of 30 attempts.

Emanuel Jackson led SFA on the glass with seven rebounds, while Ji Thomas, Kevin Daniels and Edwin Tatum all pulled down four rebounds each.

The Lumberjack return to action Tuesday night as they travel to Houston to take on Rice.
