Porter Leads SFA Past Northern Colorado

AMES, Iowa -- Sophomore Josh Porter scored a game high 23 points in leading Stephen F. Austin (2-2) to a 65-55 win over Northern Colorado (0-6) Saturday night at the Cyclone Challenge hosted by Iowa State.
Porer finished the night 8-14 from the field, including 5-7 on three point shots on his way to a career high 23 points. Rodrigo Segantim added his first double-double as a Lumberjack with 11 points and 10-rebounds as the 'Jacks outrebounded Northern Colorado 37-28 for the game. Segantim picked up the first double-double of his SFA career in the game and set a career high with 10 rebounds.
Marcus Clark plsyed 38 minutes and scored six points, dishing out eight assists against only one turnover in the game.
Taylor Moore came off the bench to add six points and five rebounds for the Lumberjacks.
The 'Jacks shot 44.0 percent from the field (22-50) while holding Northern Colorado to 40.7 percent from the floor (22-54). The Bears were only 2-7 from the line while the 'Jacks continued to shoot well from the free throw stripe, connecting on 13 of 16 free throw attempts (.813). Marcus Clark missed his first free throws of the year and is now 18-20 for the year.
The Lumberjacks wrap up the tournament 1-1, and will take on Grambling State next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
