SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - Kevin Daniels scored 17 points, seven of them in a second-half spurt to give Stephen F. Austin the game-winning lead, in a 49-47 win over Southwest Texas State.

Daniels scored the seven second-half points to turn a 27-26 Bobcats lead into a 34-31 Lumberjacks advantage.

Southwest Texas State (2-4, 0-1 Southland) didn't get closer than two points after the final lead change.

Daniels was the only Stephen F. Austin (3-3, 1-0) player to reach double digits as the Lumberjacks shot 36 percent from the field.

The Bobcats didn't fare much better, hitting only 31 percent of their field goals.

Dain Ervin scored 18 points to lead Bobcats' scorers and David Sykes added 11.
