The Lumberjacks shot just over 59% from the field in the first half of Saturday night's 76-50 win over Texas Southern as the 'Jacks cruised to their fourth straight win at home. SFA jumped out to an early 7-2 lead behind jumpers from Skip Jackson and Percy Green and never looked back.

Jackson, a junior from Beaumont, ended up leading the Lumberjacks with 19 points on a 6 of 12 shooting night. Jackson was five of seven from beyond the three point arc. Freshman Stevin Ozier also added a career high 15 points in his first start as a collegiate player.

The 'Jacks were 28 of 48 from the field for the night (.583), one of their best shooting nights of the year. SFA was also 10 of 15 on three pointers (.625). Meanwhile, Texas Southern could not handle the Lumberjacks' defense as the Tigers managed to shoot only .356 from the field (16-45. The Tigers did improve to .458 in the second half (11-24), but it was too little, too late as they could not overcome a 37-16 first half deficit.

Percy Green led SFA on the glass with seven rebounds as the 'Jacks outrebounded the Tigers by a 37-22 margin. SFA also dominated play inside, outscoring Texas Southern 28-18 in points in the paint.

The 'Jacks (4-3,1-0) take a week off for final exams this week before returning to action, December 17 against Southeastern Louisiana, in Hammond, Louisiana. SFA will follow that up with another conference tilt with Nicholls State on the 19th.
