NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Four of a Kind?: The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team will look to build onto what is already its longest winning streak of the year Saturday when the 'Jacks host Southeastern Louisiana in the last contest of their four-game home stand. SFA won each of the first three games in its longest home stretch of the year, and a win over the Lions (8-6, 0-1) would give SFA (8-5, 1-0) a 2-0 start in Southland Conference play for the first time since the 2002-03 season, when the Lumberjacks opened SLC action with a 10-game win streak.

Last Game: The Lumberjacks won their third straight game and fourth consecutive home contest with a hard-fought 61-55 win over Nicholls State on Thursday. SFA got out to a sluggish start and shot just 41 percent from the floor, but managed to hold off Nicholls State down the stretch, marking the first time this year for the Lumberjacks to shoot worse than 45 percent and still win. Sophomore center Matt Kingsley scored 22 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the 'Jacks in both departments. Senior guard Chaz Dykes scored 10 points, and senior guard Will Johnson added nine points and six rebounds off the bench. Junior forward Scott Weaver aided the effort with seven rebounds.

vs. Southeastern Louisiana: SFA is 18-12 all-time against the Lions. The Lumberjacks hold a 6-5 advantage in the series under head coach Danny Kaspar, but the Lions have won each of the last four contests. Kaspar won each of his first three meetings with Southeastern, then won three in a row against the Lions again over the course of the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. Southeastern defeated SFA, 75-73, in the lone meeting last season.

The Lions: Southeastern Louisiana comes into Saturday's game with an 8-6 overall record and an 0-1 mark in Southland Conference action after falling to Sam Houston State, 69-45, Thursday. The Lions collected several quality out-of-conference victories, including wins at Oregon State and Penn State.

The Coaches: Danny Kaspar is in his seventh season as the head basketball coach at SFA. Kaspar is 101-81 (.555) in his time with the Lumberjacks. He is 320-133 (.706) in 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach. The Lions are coached by Jim Yarbrough. He is 24-18 in his second season at Southeastern Louisiana, and carries a 121-60 mark in six seasons as a collegiate head coach.

Up Next: The Lumberjacks hit the road to take on Lamar and McNeese State in Southland Conference action. SFA is scheduled to play Lamar in Beaumont, Texas, on Jan. 11. The 'Jacks will be in Lake Charles, La., on Jan. 13 for a 3 p.m. tip against the Cowboys.
