NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team has broken into the Mid-Major Top 25 poll at number 19, in a poll released this morning. The mid-major poll, administered by collegeinsider.com, ranks schools from 22 conferences across the nation. A panel of 31 collegiate head coaches comprise the voters in the poll.

Creighton tops the mid-major poll this week with the Lumberjacks making their first ever appearance in the poll at number 19. SFA (13-3, 9-0) leads the Southland Conference at 9-0 and has won 12 straight games, tying the longest winning streak for the team since a 12-game streak to end the 1986-87 season. The longest winning streak in SFA history is 31 straight in the 1971-72 season when the 'Jacks opened the year with a loss, then won 31 in a row, closing out the year with a loss in the NAIA national tournament finals and a loss in the consolation game of the tournament.

SFA hopes to continue its current streak this Saturday travelling to Natchitoches, La. to take on the Demons in a 4:00 p.m. matchup.
