NACOGDOCHES, Texas - On the Road Again: The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team will open a two-game road swing this weekend, when SFA travels to San Antonio to take on the Roadrunners of Texas-San Antonio. The game against the Roadrunners (5-15, 1-6) is set for a 6 p.m. start at the Convocation Center and begins a four-game stretch that will see the Lumberjacks (13-7, 6-2) play on the road three times. Five of SFA's next seven games are road contests.

Last Game: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took advantage of a poor showing at the free throw line by SFA and a second-half scoring drought to collect a 70-62 win in Nacogdoches on Wednesday. The Lumberjacks shot just 56 percent at the foul stripe and went nearly eight minutes without a point in the middle of the second half. That dry spell helped the Islanders turn what had been a six-point SFA lead into a seven-point Lumberjack deficit. Seven-foot center Chris Daniels scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead A&M-Corpus Christi. Sophomores Josh Alexander and Matt Kingsley paced SFA with 16 and 14 points, respectively.

vs. Texas-San Antonio: Wins against the Roadrunners have been hard to come by. SFA is 9-20 all-time against Texas-San Antonio, including a 4-7 mark under current head coach Danny Kaspar. The Roadrunners have won four in a row in the series, dating back to their 74-70 victory in the Southland Conference Tournament championship game in 2004. Under Kaspar, SFA is 1-5 on the road against UTSA.

The Roadrunners: Texas-San Antonio is 5-15 overall and 1-6 in Southland Conference play. The Roadrunners enter Saturday's contest on a two-game slide and are losers of nine of their last 10 games. UTSA ranks last in the SLC West and is the lone Southland team with fewer than two league wins.

The Coaches: Danny Kaspar is in his seventh season as the head basketball coach at SFA. Kaspar is 106-83 (.561) in his time with the Lumberjacks. He is 325-135 (.707) in 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach. The Roadrunners are guided by first-year head coach Brooks Thompson. Thompson is 5-15 (.250).

Up Next: The Lumberjacks will travel to Conway, Ark., for their first-ever meeting with Southland Conference newcomer Central Arkansas next Wednesday. SFA will return home for a Feb. 12 game against SLC East rival Northwestern State. That game will be televised regionally on Fox Sports Net-Southwest.
