'Jacks To Take On Southwest Texas Wednesday At 7 pm
March 11, 2003 SFA put the wraps on its most successful season ever as a member of the Southland Conference last Friday night with a 75-63 win over Northwestern State. The win in the regular season finale marked win number 20 of the year, the first time SFA has won 20 games in a season since the 1986-87 season and also was the 16th conference win of the year, the most ever by the 'Jacks. In going 16-4 in Southland Conference action, SFA finished second in the conference standings thereby earning a first round bye in the Southland Conference Tournament presented by Audiovox. The bye places SFA in the tournament semifinals, the third time SFA has played in the semifinal round. The 'Jacks have never played in a conference tournament final. He has been battling a tender ankle, but with rest is expected to be at full strength Wednesday night.
