SFA Defense Among Top 20% in the Nation In 2002
July 5, 2002 The Lumberjack basketball team finished the season as the 42nd ranked team in NCAA Division I Men's basketball scoring defense. The 'Jacks allowed opponents only 62.7 ppg for the year, winding up the year 42nd out of 321 Division I teams. SFA went 13-15 for the year and 10-10 in Southland Conference play, qualifying for the SLC postseason tournament for the first time in five years in 2002. The 'Jacks held their opponents to less than 60 points on 11 occasions during the year, holding Southeastern Louisiana to a season low 42 points in a 55-42 win over the Lions in Hammond. |
