SLC-TV Announces Broadcast Schedule
Nov. 5, 2009
FRISCO, Texas - The Southland Conference announced the 2009-10 basketball broadcast schedule for SLC-TV on Thursday, and the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks are one of just two teams in the conference to be featured twice. The 'Jacks will play one road game and one home game on the league's regional television network, with the potential for a third televised contest on the final day of the regular season.
For the second straight season, SFA's game against rival Sam Houston State will kick off the SLC-TV basketball schedule. The 'Jacks are scheduled to take on the Bearkats in Huntsville, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 9. The game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
SFA's other scheduled televised game is on Saturday, Feb. 27, against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The contest against the Islanders is slated to tip at 2 p.m.
The Lumberjacks could potentially have one more regular-season contest aired on SLC-TV. The network's men's wildcard game is set for Saturday, March 6. SFA is scheduled to host UTSA in the regular-season finale on that date.
SLC-TV is the Southland Conference's regional television network. In its second year of existence, the network broadcasts Southland sports in 33 markets over a three-state area and has a national presence with ESPN Full Court and Fox College Sports. Five of this year's basketball broadcasts will be shared with ESPN Full Court and ESPN 360, while Fox College Sports airs select SLC-TV events on a delayed basis.
As part of the broadcasting package, all SLC-TV events will be available for free online, via SLC NOW, the conference's live streaming platform.
In addition to the televised SLC-TV dates, SFA will appear on regional television Nov. 24, when the Lumberjacks host Texas Tech in a 7 p.m. game. The contest will be broadcast by the Texas Tech Sports Network, with Fox Sports Net-Southwest expected to pick up the feed for distribution.
All of the Lumberjacks' home, regular-season contests will be streamed live online via SFA All-Access.
SFA opens the 2009-10 season Monday, Nov. 9, with an exhibition game against Northwest Oklahoma State. That contest is set to begin at 7 p.m. The 'Jacks start the regular season the following week with a road game against No. 18 Minnesota.
