During Ducote's four years on campus, he overcame significant injuries to be a member of one of the strongest linebacking corps in school history. The Baton Rouge, La., native was the leader of the SFA defense helping SFA go from an 0-11 in 2007, to a conference championship just two years later. The Lumberjacks followed its first conference championship in 10 years, by repeating as conference champions in 2010. It was the first time in program history an SFA team had ever repeated as conference champions. A three-time All-Southland Conference selection, Ducote garnered second-team all-conference honors after a sophomore season that saw him lead the league and finished tied for second in the nation in tackles. For an encore, Ducote closed out his career by helping the Lumberjacks lead the nation in sacks and tackles for losses. Ducote left SFA recording 407 career tackles, including 175 solo stops. He was also credited with 33 tackles for losses, 5.5 sacks, recovered 10 fumbles and intercepted 10 passes. Ducote received his bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin in May 2011. He is currently working towards his master's degree. |
