Jan. 13, 2003

Seniors Greg Barnum and Anthony Dingle, along with junior safety Brent Hafford have been named to Don Hansen's Football Gazette First Team All-Region team. The team is comprised of players from the Southland, the SWAC, the Pioneer and I-AA independents across the southern part of the United States.

The honor is the third post season honor for Barnum who was named to both the Associated Press and Sports Network All-American teams following the 2002 season. Dingle, an honorable mention All-American a year ago, earns the First Team All-South Region award after leading the team with 42 catches for 573 yards and five touchdowns. Dingle was also a First Team All-Southland Conference pick in 2002 for the second straight year.

Hafford, a junior from Jasper, led the Lumberjacks with 113 tackles on the year, and also led the Southland Conference with 16 passes defended. Hafford was also a First Team All-Southland selection in a vote of conference head coaches following the 2002 season.
