SFA Athletes Honored by Nelson Rusche College of Business

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Although the annual SFA Champions' Dinner is still a week away, several Lumberjack and Ladyjack received honors for their success in the classroom. The Stephen F. Austin Department of Economics and Finance held their annual Nelson Rusche College of Business Academic Excellence Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 25th where four student-athletes were recognized as honorees.
SFA redshirt sophomore quarterback Joe Minden earned the High Ranking Finance Junior award, which is the highest honor for a finance student that the Nelson Rusche College of Business offers. Minden was also one of 15 students named to the Fundamentals of Finance. The standout from Coppell, Texas turns his attention to the football field now as the Lumberjacks will host the annual Purple and White Scrimmage Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Other award-winners included sophomore sprinter Joshua Taylor, who earned an Alumni Scholarship while senior golfer Allison Flake was named an Entrepreneur honoree. Lastly, former baseball catcher and senior Jarid Scarafiotti was chosen as an Asset-Liability Management honoree.
