Wiggs Named to CFPA Watch List
June 25, 2013
Stephen F. Austin junior kicker Jordan Wiggs has been named to the 2013 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Placekicker Award Watch List announced CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith Monday morning. The preliminary watch list highlights 32 returners vying for the top individual kicker award at the FCS level.
"Congratulations to Jordan Wiggs on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Watch List," said Smith. "Wiggs is a talented placekicker with a strong track record of success in the Southland Conference."
Wiggs is one of only 32 kickers in the country, and one of only three in the Southland Conference to be named to the preseason watch list. He finished second on the team with 81 points during the 2012 campaign. Wiggs converted on 15-of-20 (.750) field-goal attempts and was a near perfect 36-of-39 on extra-point attempts. He ended the season ranked third in the conference, among kickers, averaging 7.4 points per game.
In addition to the two other conference kickers named to the list, SFA will see three watch list kickers in non-conference matchups this year against Weber State, Montana State and Prairie View A&M.
