    PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team received 12 points in The Sports Network's NCAA Division I-AA Preseason Top-25 poll announced Matt Dougherty Monday afternoon. The 'Jacks are listed among the `others receiving votes' category.

    The Southland Conference is well represented in the preseason poll placing three teams among the top 25. Preseason league favorite McNeese State is the conference's highest-ranked team entering the season 11th. Defending conference co-champions Texas State and Nicholls State also cracked the top 25. Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana join SFA in the `others receiving votes' category.

    The Lumberjacks return to the practice field Tuesday morning with their fifth and final acclimation practice. The practice is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m. All practices are free and open to the public.
