Long Receives Player of the Week Honor

FRISCO, Texas - Junior kicker Cory Long has been named Southland Conference Special Teams Player of the Week announced league officials Monday afternoon. It marks the first time in Long's career that he has received the honor. Long recorded a career-night Saturday in the 'Jacks' game at No. 4 North Dakota State. Long was a perfect 4-of-4 on field-goal attempts, scoring a career-high 13 points. Long connected on attempts of 20, 46, 27 and 47 yards Saturday night in the Fargo Dome. The 47-yard field goal tied a career Long, which he originally set last season. Long earned honorable mention all-conference honors during a freshman season that saw him score 66 points. He is currently 10th all-time in school history with 155 career points. -SFA- |
