SFA IN TELEVISED GAMES: SFA is 16-20 (.444) in televised games dating back to 1998. The Lumberjacks have won seven of their last 12 televised games, but is only 1-3 (.250) in televised games this season. It was the most first downs by the 'Jacks in a game in more than two years (vs. Lamar, 9/25/10). THE DEFENSE DOESN'T REST: SFA's defense only surrendered 10 points to Nicholls State, which is a season-best for the 'Jacks. It is the fewest points scored against SFA by an FCS school since shutting out Northwestern State in the 2011 season finale. ALMOST HARD TO BELEIVE: Senior receiver Cordell Roberson received notice for what he didn't do against Nicholls, than what he did do. Roberson was held below 100 yards receiving for only the second time this season. He has five 100-yard receiving games in 2012. EN FUEGO: Junior Brady Attaway is in the midst of one the hottest stretches of his career. He has completed 80 passes for 1,019 yards and 11 touchdowns in the past two games. Attaway also became only the fourth player in program history to record 50 career touchdown passes. THE COACHES: J.C. Harper became the 18th head coach of the SFA Lumberjack football team in December 2006. A two-time SLC Coach of the Year, Harper has guided SFA to two conference titles and NCAA playoff appearances. He is 32-34 (.485) in his sixth season as a head coach. McNeese State head coach Matt Viator is 43-18 (.705) in his sixth season with the Cowboys. During that time he has guided McNeese State to a 28-10 (.737) Southland Conference record and three league tiles. | |||||||||
