NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team (0-8/0-4 SLC) returns to the gridiron at Homer Bryce Stadium for one final time when it hosts No. 5 McNeese State. The Cowboys enter the game as the league's lone remaining undefeated team, 8-0, and 4-0 in the Southland Conference. The game against the Cowboys will begin at 6 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium. It will also serve as Senior Night for the Lumberjacks' seniors.

The Lumberjacks will be saying good-bye to 15 seniors Saturday night. The 'Jacks' class of 2007 consists of Stephon Rhea, Nick Rhodes, Danny Southall, Lloyd Ligons, Bug Aymond, Johnny Thacker, Louie Runnels, Michael Motte, Ryan Gooch, Taylor Cobb, Brock Pasteur, Mike Davis, Scott Dover, Tobi Kaiyewu and Brendan Flannery.

The Lumberjacks trail the all-time series against McNeese State, 14-10-2 (.558), and have dropped four of the last five meetings. SFA is 6-6 (.500) all-time against the Cowboys in Nacogdoches, but dropped a 20-17 decision against the Cowboys at Homer Bryce Stadium last season.

The Lumberjacks recorded more than 400 yards of total offense, and jumped out to a 10-3 lead, but it wasn't enough to put away eventual SLC champion McNeese State. The Cowboys rallied to score the next 17 points to take a 20-10 lead. SFA pulled to within three points, 20-17, and got the ball back with just under two minutes remaining. SFA drove the ball to the McNeese State 34 yard line, where kicker Cory Long attempted a 51-yard field goal to tie the game, but the kick was off target, which handed the Cowboys a 20-17 win.

Saturday's game will pit a McNeese State starting offensive line that averages 6-3, 295 pounds, against a young Lumberjack starting defensive line that averages 6-4, 253 pounds. The Lumberjacks' offensive line enters the game averaging 6-4, 298 pounds. The Cowboys' defensive line averages 6-2, 251 pounds.
