NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team (3-7, 3-2 SLC) heads into its regular-season finale looking to finish the season on a modest two-game win streak, as well as looking for its first home victory of the season. The Lumberjacks will host Northwestern State in the annual "Battle for Chief Caddo" Thursday night. The Demons enter the game 4-6 (.400) overall, a game back of SFA with a 2-3 (.400) SLC record. The game will also serve as Senior Day for the Lumberjacks, as 11 seniors will be playing their final game in front of the Lumberjack faithful. The game against the Demons is slated to begin at 7 p.m., and will be televised live on Fox Sports Net.

SFA vs. THE DEMONS: The Lumberjacks trail the all-time series, 40-19-3 (.331), to Northwestern State. SFA has lost two consecutive games and four of the last five, with the lone SFA victory being a 44-14 decision in 2003. The Lumberjacks are 5-13 (.278) all-time against Northwestern State in Nacogdoches dating back to the 1970 season. The 'Jacks last home victory during the series was a 17-3 decision in 2000.

SLC TITLE HOPES: The Lumberjacks enter Thursday's game against Northwestern State with an outside shot at a share of the Southland Conference title. The 'Jacks are currently 3-2 in SLC play, only a game back of McNeese State and Sam Houston State. SFA will need to defeat Northwestern State Thursday and have McNeese State lose to Nicholls State and Sam Houston State lose to Texas State.

LUMBERJACKS SAY GOOD-BYE TO SENIORS: Eleven seniors will be playing their final collegiate football game Thursday night. The Lumberjack senior class includes team Carlus Anders, Mike Benson, Kenneth Boley, Jerome Brooks, Corey Campbell, David Coleman, Andrew Fleck, Keldrick Holman, Joe Kutac, Freddie Parish and Krys Williams.
