A Pflugerville, Texas, native, Trey Schroeder returned to his alma mater in July to become the Lumberjacks' new head coach. Schroeder was a four-year letterwinner at SFA and guided the 'Jacks to their most successful stint in the Southland Conference. He was a member of the 1999 Southland Conference Championship team, where he finished fourth overall to earn All-SLC honors. Schroeder finished his career as a two-time all-conference athlete. "Our goal is to build the golf program to a level of challenging for the conference title each year and making the NCAA tournament," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "I believe Trey can get us there because he is passionate about golf and is willing to put in the time necessary to meet this goal." Schroeder holds both a bachelor's and master's degree from SFA. Since graduation, he has played professionally and has been involved with junior golf in the Austin area.
