Rains Alter Golf Tournament

Rai delay forces cancellation of second round of play - SFA in eighth place.

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team opened the 2005 spring schedule at the Rice Invitational Monday, but heavy rains and a rain delay forced the cancellation of the second round of play. The teams were able to get in one round on Monday and the 'Jacks are in a tie for ninth place after an opening round 305.

Sam Houston shot a 294 Monday and leads by a shot over the University of Nebraska.
