Sauntry Leads SFA To Fifth Place Finish

HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin junior Trevor Sauntry finished in a tie for third place at the Sam Houston Classic Golf Tournament held at Raven's Nest Golf Club in Huntsville, to lead SFA to a fifth place team finish in the two day event.
Sauntry shot rounds of 71-70-68 to finish at six under par, 210 for the tournament. Jeremy Ice also posted a top-20 finish with rounds of 77-71-72 to tie for 15th place. Brian Grossman (75-74-78) finished in a tie for 35th and Dustin Byrd (74-80-79) finished in a tie for 68th. J.P. Landry rounded out things with rounds of 84-75-83 to finish in 85th.
Oklahoma City College won the tournament with a three day total of 851, followed by Texas State-San Marcos. Southern Illinois was third with a total of 876, with Rice fourth at 882. The 'Jacks finished fifth at 883, five shots ahead of sixth place Washington State.
