Trevor Sauntry shot an afternoon round of 68 to put himself in a tie for eighth place at the Sam Houston Bearkat Classic Golf Tournament Monday in Willis. Sauntry shot a 76 in the morning round and stands at even par, 144, at the 36-hole point in the tourney. Sauntry is five strokes off the lead heading into Tuesday's final 18-holes of play.

As a team, SFA shot rounds of 307-291 and also stand in a tie for eighth place heading into Tuesday's final round. The 'Jacks are just two strokes out of fifth place and six shots back of fifth place Southwest Texas. Washington State leads the tournament following rounds of 284-296, and stands at 580, two shots ahead of host Sam Houston in second.

Brent Gurley, playing as a medalist, enters Tuesday's play in eleventh place with rounds of 75-70.

Jason Alexander enters the final 18-holes of play in 25th place following rounds of 76-73.
