SFA Struggles on Opening Day of Shocker Classic

WICHITA, Kansas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team has an uphill climb as it enters the final round of the Shocker Classic. The 'Jacks posted an opening-day 312-310 - 622 to finish in 16th-place at the Wichita Country Club Monday afternoon.

SFA is being led by freshman Kyle Robbins who is currently tied for 57th overall. After struggling in the opening round, Robbins battled back to shoot a two-over 73 in the second round to finish the day with a 153. Sophomore Richard Wilkenfeld is only two strokes back of Robbins after recording a 78-77 - 155.

The 'Jacks return to action Tuesday to play the final 18 holes of the classic. Play is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. from the Wichita Country Club.
