    SFA Golf Five Shots Out Of First At Mean Green Classic

    LANTANA, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team enters the final 18 holews of play Tuesday at the Mean Green Classic in second place, five shots behind host team North Texas. Brian Grossman is tied for the individual lead following rounds of 71-70 Monday in day one of the 54-hole event.

    SFA shot rounds of 293-286 Monday afternoon and trails North Texas by five strokes after UNT shot rounds of 293-286 Monday. The University of Houston is in third place, three shots back of the 'Jacks with Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State rounding out the top five.

    Chad Spencer shot rounds of 72-72 Monday and is in a tie for eighth place at even par. Jeremy Ice also shot rounds of 77-72, followed by Trevor Sauntry at 73-78 and James McLeod at 77-74.

    The final 18 holes gets underway Tuesday morning.
